Partnerships with Rockbrook International in Ireland were recently introduced to families; Northridge and Willows Academy of Chicago for the realization of the semester abroad during the years of the Secondary School; in recent days, however, Giovanni Vicari, General Manager of the CEFA Schools, has participated in two important events that distinguish the bilingual and innovative nature of the bilingual Primary and Secondary School.
Mindful of the mission, the Director General of the CEFA Schools was invited to the “New Directions Series”, the first European conference promoted by the British Council: with Gisella Langé, technical inspector of foreign languages in service at the Ministry of Education and Merit, they are compared on the new clil methodologies at the basis of the bilingualism project. CLIL is the acronym for Content and Language Integrated Learning. It is a methodology that involves teaching content in a foreign language, favoring both the acquisition of disciplinary contents and the learning of the foreign language.
To integrate the implementation of bilingualism, CEFA Schools presented the innovative educational plan STEAM in English at the STEM4SUD meeting: an opportunity to share how English, in addition to being a vehicular language, becomes a further tool to strengthen the development of transversal skills since kindergarten. At the Naples meeting there was the opportunity to discuss with other players in the sector including the Istituto Nuovo Bianchi, Marevivo, Google, to demonstrate how school culture through STEM can find application in everyday life by shortening the distance between good school theory and practice. Will the precious contribution of Sydney Savion, Chief Learning Futurist of Google, open new scenarios?
