It’s almost time now, next week the pupils of the Junior and Petranova Secondary Schools will leave for the International Week!
The students will set off to discover Europe to experience a week together for the first time in which they will practice their language skills, get to know other cultures up close and will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and share an experience they will remember forever. For this reason, during this week they worked together in small groups to prepare and study the itineraries, places, presentations and activities as well as the cultural habits of the countries they will visit and live in for a week.
The pupils of 6th grade will spend a week in Bawdsey Manor in an English college where they will live in close contact with international students carrying out different types of individual and group sporting activities; team building and orienteering activities. In addition, city tours of Cambridge and London are planned.
7th grade students will always spend their International Week in the UK, in the dynamic English capital: London! They will visit the main monuments (Piccadilly, Trafalgar, Thames, Westminister) and the city’s museums (Natural History museum, British museum, Science Museum) and refresh themselves in the large green spaces of the metropolis such as St. James’s Park or Hyde Park. The boys have tasks of active involvement in the planning and research of information on places to visit, as well as the presentation of the same.
The pupils of 8th grade will discover the charm of Barcelona, of the Catalan and Hispanic culture. Visits to the historic center and different areas of the city (Barrio Gotico, Born, Ramblas; Barceloneta and Port Olimpico, Montjuic) of the main museums (Science Museum and Mirò Museum) are planned and will go to the discovery of Catalan Modernism through the works of Gaudì : Sagrada Familia, Parque Guell and along Paseo de Gracia.
To be ready not only for the experience but also for the journey, the pupils also participated in a flight simulation performed with prof. Casagrande, Scientific Director of the Geographic Research and Application Laboratory of the European University of Rome.
